PHIL RYAN
CEO/Managing Director
Phil Ryan is the original Brand Director of City Chic. In 2006, Mr. Ryan led a team of six people that created the City Chic brand. He is responsible for the strategic direction and operational leadership that has seen CCX take a market leading position in the global plus size industry. Under Mr. Ryan's leadership, CCX now has more than 86 stores in Australia and New Zealand with online sales representing more than 73% of total sales globally. Mr. Ryan has driven successful partnerships with Nordstrom, Macy's, Target and Amazon in the USA.
Mr. Ryan is a global authority in the plus size consumer. He has over 25 years’ experience in senior and strategic retail apparel management. Mr. Ryan's family had a fashion manufacturing, wholesale and retail business called Ambition in the 1980’s and 1990’s and from this he knows all areas of a rag trade business; from the cutting table to the retail shop floor.
JAMES PLUMMER
Chief Financial Officer
James was appointed Chief Financial Officer of City Chic in October 2024, after progressing through various senior finance leadership roles since joining the business in January 2020.
James brings over 23 years of experience in domestic and international finance, including a decade with Ernst & Young across their Sydney, Amsterdam, and New York practices, where he specialised in advising multinational clients on complex financial and regulatory matters. Prior to joining City Chic, he was Vice President of Financial Reporting at PVH Corp (NYSE: PVH), a Fortune 500 global fashion and lifestyle company, based in their European headquarters.
James holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong and is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
CARLEY TURNER
Chief Marketing Officer
Carley Turner was announced as the Chief Marketing Officer for City Chic Collective in April 2021.
Carley was part of the founding team behind City Chic and has been instrumental in growing the brands that sit within the collective globally through her creative flair and commercial acumen.
Carley oversees the marketing direction for all brands in the collective’s portfolio including strategy, eCommerce, digital and customer experience across the global business. She has driven City Chic Collective to be a premier destination for plus-size women’s apparel, recognising the importance of brand and customer perception within the plus fashion industry.
With over 15 years experience in retail and fashion, Carley has worked with some of Australia’s largest women’s apparel brands in a marketing capacity. She holds a Business Degree, majoring in Marketing, from Newcastle University.
